Generator slide out Winnebago Tour 42 JD

I just traded for a new Winnebago Tour 42 JD. I can't for the life in me get the generator to release & slide out. Can't find any help in the manual, so any advice is appreciated. Michael Swinea, Pegram, TN

Are you sure it's supposed to slide out?

The generator slideout release lever is under the front on the side closest to the entry door. Once you slide it out maybe 12 inches, there is another release on the slide rails which allows you to slide it out further.

Our Tour is a 2012 JD, so this should work unless they made changes.

Steve, I pulled the 1st release lever until it touched the front end. It seems like there isn't enough travel on the lever to release the lock. Going to crawl under tomorrow & try again. Thanks,

It is probably sticking. While pulling the lever, also pull the front of the slide. Seems mine never releases with just the lever.

The 2013 42JD I believe has an electric slide out system. Switch located inside the Drivers side front access door.
