OK, found the drawing of the external to the control card wiring and I can't see anything in there that might cause your symptoms. So I'll repeat, sounds like the control board.

Here's a link to a company I've used many times when troubleshooting gensets. I've bought PCBs from them too: Flight Systems

I'll second the board or a relay being your problem. We have different gens, but mine would not start from the dash or at the gen. Under the cover to the gen there must be 100 wires and relays and control board, why keep it simple. My problem was the pump voltage. So after paying several hundred for a diesel mechanic, he found the problem, so we decided to put in a switch to get a good 12 volts to the pump. After all this and paying the bill I decide to see if the gen will start from the dash, yep, cranked right up without using the $300 dollar switch I had them put in. I have never had to use that manual switch again to this day. My guess is a relay decided to act up for a few days, then back to normal. Hope ya find your problem, but it sounds like the board or a relay to me.
