Generator Starts on its own/2010 Tiffin Bus

I have a 2010 Tiffan Allegro Bus and when it rains my generator will just start up by itself. I have to unplug at the main plug. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Need a bit more info. The main you're talking about is that the power on the pedestal? Do you have an AGS (auto gen start)?

Generator Starts on its own/2010 Tiffin Bus

I had it happen on our generator. Start d on its own ran 8 hours. No AGS present. That weekend ran into a Monaco owner that had his start up in a storage lot. Ran 48 hours till fuel was too low to run anymore.
There is a plug assembly right under the hood that supposedly is the culprit. I cleaned mine then added some dielectric grease. Has not happened since.

Yes it has a a AGS system.. The system is not set up to start the generator. I have had this happen before. I did unplug the main connect on passenger side of coach and let it set for a couple days and plugged it back in. It only happens when we have excessive rain. I think it might be what others have said, the plug needs cleaning and I need some electrical grease.

Well known problem with the connector at the rear of the generator. It gets wet, shorts out, and starts the generator. You will need some dielectric grease and something to waterproof the connector. For more information, go to the Tiffin RV Network website.
