Hi,
I just bought a Forest River 390BH 2011.
The generator won't slide. It doesn't move at all. I went under it, I can move the release wire and see that both locks are behaving exactly the same. I can't say if these locks are broken since it very difficult for me to understand how they work. When I pull the cable, the locks both go until they are stopped by metal stopper.
I put WD40 on the rails. I tried to push the generator out with my feet while I was under. I use a big hammer. I use a car jack to try to push it a bit. I feel like the generator wants to slide but the locks are holding it.
I use a jack to raise the four corner of the generator 1/2 inch to see if the rail was stuck in rust. Seems ok since it moved.
Here is a picture I took of one of the two locks. There are three bolts. The middle bolt is probably the one that hold to the motorhome and the two others are holding the generator side.
1 - Does anybody knows how those locks work? Can I open their teeth with a screwdriver or something?
2 - Does anybody know how I remove those locks without all the spring going in the sky?
3 - Does anybody know the part name or number or those locks?
Thanks in advance!
Carl
P.S.: It was very difficult to take a picture of the locks when the generator is in place. What a dirty job!
