Girard Slide Topper Awnngs - hold water

We took delivery of our new 2017 Entegra Cornerstone last week. Love the coach !!!

During our maiden voyage we encountered some light rain. When we pulled into our dry warehouse, we noticed the coach drained for 3.5 days. We checked everywhere for potential leaks.

We discovered that the Girard slide topper awning cassettes were full of water and were dripping slowly. The concern here is that the topper material is sitting in essentially a tub of water. Not to mention the wet warehouse floor until they completely drain.

I called Girard, they're supposed to get back to me on Monday.

I'm not sure if this is a design or installation problem.

Anyone else have any knowledge on this?

Thanks!!!

So the tech at Girard actually recommended that I drill weep holes into the bottom of the awning cassettes. This I won’t do.....I’m going to contact a Entegra before I do that. They need to now that they have a design flaw on their hands. Girard agreed that it’s not good to have the awning material sitting in a water bath.........more to come
