From my quotes I would say I got a much better deal through my State Farm agent. What I pay is $12.00 more a month but instead of $1,000 ded I have $250.00 ded and some other pluses.

As I see it Good Sam is a broker for various insurance companies, not an insurance company . As usual the actual insurance company your placed with would be the important part.
Get quotes apples to apples same deductibles same coverage directly with the company and through any brokers like good Sam. Brokers can sometimes have better rates than you going alone to the insurance company.

As BillJinor says. GS is just an agency selling policies from an actual insurer. Actually several insurers, depending on where you are located and what coverages you want. Their policies are as good as any, but only if they suit your needs. If you have a claim, you will be dealing with the insurer, not GS.
You need to figure out what coverages you need/want and then get quotes from multiple insurers to see who has the best rates for what you want. You can't go by what others are paying, there are far too many personal & regional parameters to make that comparison useful.

That's "Camping World". No thanks - I trust nothing from there!
I just received my Progressive renewal and it went up $200 a year. I will renew.
Thanks,

We've had Good Sam insurance since about 1980 - it was underwritten by GMAC for several years, then it switched over to National General. When we get a rate increase it's usually less than $100, and happens maybe every 5 years or so. We've made claims with them for a windshield replacement on the motorhome, and for a replacement rear axle when the motorhome got caught in a flood - no problems either time.

I hope your good service from them continues. Allstate recently acquired NG, and Allstate rates very poorly.

We've had most of the above mentioned companies over the last 2 1/2 decades and have learned to check competitive rates near renewal time. The best bargain recently has been with Geico. Under $1,000 annual premium ( half of what Allied wanted for renewal) on a $235,000 coach with 250/500 liability, $1,000 deductible and no deductible on comp. We've had two $3,000 windshields replaced in 2 1/2 years and no increase in premium. The only draw back with them is that everything is done online. There is no face to face agent to deal with, but that probably contributes to their lower rates.

I've got State Farm currently and when I did my annual review of the Policy I noticed that there was no coverage for personal effects. When I called my agent she confirmed that SF doesn't cover personal effects. That means the wife can't afford to travel with any of her jewelry. That won't make her happy at all.
I'm going to shop around and see what other companies are out there to meet my needs.

If you have homeowners or renters insurance, some personal property coverage automatically extends anywhere in the world. Check with your agent

I know of no insurance company that provides a high amount of coverage for jewelry, art, antiques or collectibles. If you have valuable items in any of those categories you need to get specific policy riders, or perhaps stand alone policies for those items. It’s not really that expensive (until you see the total. Watches plus jewelry plus art pieces suddenly mean $50 - $100 or so to insure each item add up to multiple thousands). Good thing is once you gave the policies in place (requires appraisals ) any loss is not going to take a bunch of negotiating values.
