Google Checkout

I am looking at a MH in Florida that is on rvsearch.com. I'm in WI. The "owner" is away on business until November. He wants me to put the money in a Google Checkout account, then he will ship the MH to me for a 10 day inspection period. If I accept the unit I tell Google to pay him. If not he ships it back at his expense.
Has anybody bought an MH this way. Advice?

DON'T DO IT!

haven't done it that way before but unless something has changed, google has nothing authorized of this sort, i believe the only licenced, insured, and covered one is like "escrow.com" or something on that line, i know someone else will correct that... if you don't smell scam on that then you need to get your nose checked... if he's gone til november, then tell him you'll wait til november as well.

or maybe someone on here lives in that area and could go check it out... but seriously... "SHIP AN RV"..... c'mon...

It's a scam. There is no such thing as a Google Checkout account. Run, don't walk, away from this.

Thanks, but it wasn't me. It was Route 66 who was contacted by someone who wanted to buy his MH using the same payment scam.

Ya have to be very careful nowadays. Those unscrupulous scumbags are everywhere on the www.

"Google Checkout is a fast, secure checkout process that helps increase sales by bringing you more customers and allowing them to buy from you quickly and easily with a single login."

I googled it and found out that there is such a thing. There are videos and detailed explanations about it. I didn't study the info because I have no interest in it, but it apparently does exist. Just google it for info.

However, I do think that it would be a scam when someone says they will ship a MH back and forth at their cost. Joe

thanks joe, but what we were saying was that google checkout doesn't "hold your money" until you give the ok to release... but none the less, thanks for the 411

No money should ever change hands until the deal is completed and you take possession of the rig and title.
