Got a quote to replace decals on 35ft class A
Hi,
Just got a quote of 825$ to remove and replace
all the beat up Decals on my 2005 Damon Daybreak 35ft class A.
Material is Metalic vinyl and has a 6 year durability.
I probably woild go with a differenet colour.
How does the price seem?
Thanks,
Edit: Its 725$ for non metallic ones.

Sounds like a good price.
That's a lot of work to get the old off and install new. The decals are 13 years old now - right?
They are going to be hard as a rock and tough to get off. I assume they will heat the decals to soften and remove.
I can imagine it taking all day (8 hs x $75hr) plus the cost of the material.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Have you ever tried to remove those things? I have and they seem to always come off about half a square inch at a time.

Price seems fair but 6 years out of the new decals doesn't.

Actually that's average for vinyl. If you want longer it's time for paint.

Had to get one side vinyl trim fir our '00 DSDP just to replace a small section. Dealer said it was a good thing it was warranty or the one side would have cost me $2000.
The OP's price seems very reasonable. I won't go into whether it's worth it or not.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I removed them from an '01 Winnie, and had well over 40 hours into it. Decided my '04 Damon Daybreak looks pretty darned good, as is.

That sounds like a great price! What company or type of company did you contact to get this quote?
I’ve started to remove mine with the 3M Stripe Off tool and it is slow going. I read that I may be able to compound the areas to get them to completely “disappear” when I proceed with the compounding, polish and waxing phases of cleaning up our old girl.
Not sure we want to replace the existing decals, but will know better once we do the compounding phase. If we decide on decals, we may come up with a unique and original design....flames, bubbles, cammo anyone? LOL! Just kidding.
Please post some before and after pictures.
Cheers!

Using a 3M eraser wheel in a drill the decals will come off fairly quickly. There will still be a good bit of prep work once all the decals are off plus the labor involved in manufacture of the decals. The there's installation which will probably take a crew just to get them straight and bubble free. Under $1K is a good price.
