I'm confused! Why would you want to connect a GPS to a TV?

Its illegal to have TVs ON while driving, the driver can see. Thats why mine shuts off while the engine is running.

Maybe the OP want's to display the map for the passengers to see. Some coaches have a TV cut out switch that prevents the front TV from operating when underway. If not the OP could cast from his tablet or cell phone running Google My Maps to the TV.

Get an Android / Windows navigation app on a Android tablet or laptop. Feed the video output to the TV. Change the TV source to the input.

GPS on front TV

On my 2017 Allegro Bus, Tiffin had already installed an AV cable between the dash head unit (Kenwood DNX571TR) and the front TV. Also, the TV had no power while driving. Note that in California it is illegal to watch TV while driving. But glancing at the GPS seems OK to me.

1. The TV must have power while driving to view the GPS. My TV plugged into an outlet in the cabinet next to it above the passenger. That outlet has a top and bottom socket. The top is only powered when the key is OFF. The other is powered all the time. So I moved the TV plug to the bottom socket so it would have power all the time.

2. Turn on the TV. Go to INPUT and select AV

3. Turn on the radio/GPS, if it’s not already ON. Go to SETUP, then to AV OUT

4. Use left/right arrows to select Navigation. Be patient, things change slowly.

5. Lastly, display the GPS map

6. Voila! It’s now on the TV

Change tv input to screencast.

On garmin go to settings, display, cast and connect to your tv

It mirrors your garmin to your tv

Brad, I tried it on my coach and works like a champ. Everyday on this site I learn something new. Even selected a destination and the directions were announced through the tv. Much easier than trying to view and hear on the small screen. Real grateful. So’s my other half. Safe travels.
