Gray tank removal Class A RV

I have a 2014 Fleetwood Terra 35K and I am trying to remove the gray tank. All connections to the tank have been removed. The problem? The gray tank won't come out of the basement door! Fleetwood suggested I remove the storage door frame. But I'm not sure that removal will give me enough clearance to pull out the gray tank. Anyone have any suggestion? I can't believe this process is so difficult.

Not knowing the specific coach, I can't really offer a solution other than taking other things apart to get it out. Is it possible to measure the tank and then measure (or estimate) the size of the opening without the frame to make sure it'll work?

On mine, the only think I've removed from the basement was the Aquahot system. I will say that the opening was only around 1/16" extra on each side to slide it out. If I had removed the gasket around the opening, it would have been a bit easier. Therefore, I can imagine that yours will be just as close.

Why are you removing it??

If it's to do a repair and then replace the same tank, you'll have to figure it out. If the tank is bad and is going to be replaced, maybe buy one that will fit through opening and cut the old one into pieces and remove it. You'll lose a little capacity, but maybe a taller one will fit.
