Grinding gears in a class A?

Well an in wall slide motor quit a few days ago. The repair took a little longer because of FGY (FRICKIN GOLDEN YEARS). Think I need a new axel...uh, hip.

Anyway, bought a new motor. To align D shaft & 4 pins,(see last pix)

I took old motor apart to to use D shaft to adjust slide. Just welded it to an old socket.

That’s when I saw the failure.

The baby teeth look so cute, except the missing ones.

Great idea, welding the shaft to a socket. I'm impressed.

Not sure about it... maybe stay young?

If you men the slide motor, not sure there either. Rig is 7 years old.

I try to keep tracks clean, run slide fully in & out per instructions. The two motors operate a full wall slide, including residential fridge, recliners, pantry, & galley. I guess like me they wear out with time & use.

Thor, in Indiana, did add a second top track about 5 years ago.

Since it’s our 8th rig since ‘74, I’m used to things needing repair.

Only 2 flats in all those years, no blowouts. That’s some help.
