Country Coach.

Saw one with a mid engine and a tiny car holder in the rear. Neat coach but not practical for us.

Well in today's terms, I'd say the manufacturer couldn't make up it's mind on whether it wanted to be front or rear. So what you have is a Hermaphrodite RV.
Final answer.

BINGO ! Not a lot of those mid-engine chassis were used for RVs, but it isn't a unicorn either.

The All Star had a lot of unique floor plans. I kinda like the reverse floor plans offered in 2009.

I always liked the concept of using the mid-engine diesel as the platform for a short high end coach that actually handled and rode well.

Just like most modern vehicles, pushing the wheels to the front and back gives a long wheelbase/overall length. So, a 30-32' high end coach with ISL 400 HP............

No idea why no coach maker thought shorter high end coaches wouldn't sell. Even shorter DP's have historically been in tighter supply than the 40' models.

I find that intriguing... Is there a raised floor over the mid engine or do you have one level floor all the way? Is there service access from the side of the coach thru a bin door? Where you check the oil/fluids

When they first came out with the All Star, they had one on display at Sturgis. I checked it out and liked it, except I was concerend about engine access/maintenance. The one they had on display had white carpeting... I could only imagine the mechanic going in to do work !
