Hard to open generator door latch

Does anyone have trouble pulling latch in coach,04 Kountry Star, to open outside door. Mine seems so hard to pull and I don't want to break it.

I'm not sure how your compartment is configured, but when I have trouble opening a latch, I press in on the compartment door with my knee as I pull the latch. Sometimes the latch is adjusted a little too tight, and compressing the weatherstrip seal by pushing in with my knee makes it easier to release the latch. You could probably adjust the latch for a permanent fix.

I should of said that there is a pull latch at left bottom side of steering wheel to open outside front door to generator. I pull on it to open and its like I'm afraid its going to break or something.

like paz said have someone go outside and push in on the door and see if that makes it pull easier. if not your latch is binding or the cable is. next step would be to unhook the cable from the latch and see if its still hard to pull.

My hood latch experience is the same as yours. After lubing/rerouting with little improvement, I finally connected a length of wire to the latch itself and let it hang down to where I could reach it from below in case of emergency. Never had to use it but it still takes a HARD pull to release the latch.

Have a nice day - Darrel

Latch

Thanks guys for your suggestions on making the latch easier to pull open. Just got back to Pa from 3 months on the road and will tackle the problem when the rain quits. Thanks
