I would like to READ that posting........got a LINK???
Residential toilet......
Look at your RV toilet.
Notice how CLOSE to back wall/side walls it sits?
Can hardly get your hand back there behind RV toilet
SO HOW do you make room for that TANK?
Would have to completely redo floor flange location....moving it outward to make room for tank.
Then do you have enough room for front of toilet not interfering with cabinets/doors or your knees??
OK......how about a wall mounted tank above toilet.
Toilet bowl could be in same location w/o having to redo floor flange and tank could be above toilet............provided there is enough head room/no cabinets
Oh dang......
Looks like the ole RV Toilet is just fine...especially the high profile porcelain style
Small enough foot print to work in tight spaces and STILL provide FULL SERVICE
Still would like a LINK to that post....OK?

Have you checked your RV toilet installation and measured for the increased footprint a residential toilet with tank takes ??

1.6 gallons plus whatever the user may have added is a lot of liquid per flush to add to the black tank. I guess the upside would be never have to worry about a poo pyramid in the tank with the high water usage.
I can just imaging, but maybe I don't want to, the first time someone neglects to dump the tanks before putting a rig into short term summer storage until the next weekend trip and the water in the bowl that was creating an air seal evaporates.

well, I was just asking if it's possible. I'm never said it happened.

I would dread the day I had to make a sudden stop and the porcelain tank cover came flying off making a fist sized hole in the wall and breaking into many tiny pieces.
Most household toilets have rubber flapper valves in the bottom of the tank. How well will that stay sealed on a rough road? How about the water inlet valve float? Water sloshing around is certainly going to move that up and down. Nice way to fill the black tank so you get a good cleaning of the tank.
I don't have RV toilets in my house. My house sits very still. I am OK with the household toilets being where they should be.

Sounds like a solution in search of a problem.
I can see replacing a plastic RV toilet wit a porcelain RV toilet but with a residential? No.
