Hauling a side x side

I am wanting to take a utv with us I'm thinking of hauling it in the bed of my 14 Silverado toad. I'm looking at the Polaris rzr or arctic cat trail. I was wondering if anyone is doing this? and what machine are you riding?

We just sold our 2013 RZR 800. I kept it on a short single axle trailer in the side yard to keep it off the ground and covered. When using it locally, I towed it behind my Silverado. We took a couple of trips to Utah and loaded it in my short bed Silverado.

It will fit in the longer Silverado bed without an issue. In the short bed, when backed in, the front tires were centered over the edge of the tailgate. This was fine when loading it, but then I couldn't get the ramps out from under the tires. I made a short extension that mounted in my hitch that gave me about 6" of extra bed length. I also found online some solid arms that snap into place, over the tailgate cables for extra support.

If you have the short bed, send me a PM and I'll send you a photo of the bed extension. I made it primarily from a Harbor Freight extender. I also built a 6" x 6" square tube that I laid on the bed floor against the cab wall. When I backed the RZR in, it stopped it just short of smacking the rear window. I used aluminum ramps to back it in. Too bad you don't live closer, I still have the extension and ramps.

Don
I have the 6'5" bed was yours 6.5 or 5.8 I have a 101" with tailgate down so looks like length shouldn't be an issue if I go rzr the wildcat is a little longer and would be like what your describing I think

The RZR will fit in a standard truck bed, but the RZR-S is too wide. I carry my standard RZR in my truck all the time, just leave the tailgate down.

Steve.....I had the 5.8 bed, so you should be fine. I did add a set of air bags to the rear of the truck because the RZR is right at the limit for the truck. Mine has a 2" lift kit on the front and the RZR made it sag in the rear.

Here are the tailgate supports I was talking about. Gave me piece of mind while loading and unloading. http://dgmtailgatesupport.com/

Here is the ramp I used. It worked well.

This was our RZR....

We are looking for a 4 to 5 Star Resort on the East Coast of Florida for the Winter Season. Preferably on the ocean or nearby.
We have a Class A coach.
Any recommendations out there?

Yes the Xp is too wide they have a 900xc that's 55" wide that looks like it should work the regular wildcat is too big also you would have to use the trial model

I tow a GMC half ton behind my motorhome and have a RZR 800 on the truck. I need to have the tailgate down so I use 2 2x12boards under the RZR to help keep all the weight off the tailgate. My ramps slide in under the rZR and are held in place by a tarp strap.

2001 American Eagle 40 US 8.9 ISL, towing 1999 Cherokee or 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 with Polaris RZR in the back.
