Head Lights 1996 Holiday Rambler Navagtor

I bought a 1996 HR Navigator, nice coach when you turn the lights off, one of the three on each side stay on and you can only turn it off by the chassis disconnect switch, it looks like the switch has been replaced but can't tell for sure I have no problem working on electrical systems and can read schematics which I have but at wits end.Thank You.

This single lamp of pair of HLs are not on some daytime running light circuit are they. ?
It may be possible they added 3rd headlights to old harness design with a pair relays and one is welded in .
2nd possibility a hot short that's is not also grounded like screw in fiberglass stabbing two wires or two wires melted together . Pull HL fuses first, if it stays on pull chassis constant powered fuses one at a time see if it goes out.

It is definitely a bizarre elect. gremlin you have there. Do you have electrical diagrams. I had to just make some guesses otherwise.

Have all the drawings but they are old and some have faded some have colors and some don't, the inside and outside lights go off with the switch the center one stay on unless I turn the main disconnect off. The cold has really come into Michigan and so don't care to work outside but though if I could maybe get some hints when we have a warmer day I have a place to start. Thank You.

An extra set of relays for 3rd headlights was just a guess as HL switches were not designed for 6 headlights. My MH has HL relays ,some MHs ran just though HL switches. Does you Nav. Have the HL button on a smart wheel. Same guess may apply that original/older module or circuits were not designed for 3rd set of HLs ,maybe added second circuit was added to carry load.
Daytime running light modules been known to to mess up in older vehicles , still just a thought.
Yes got cold near Chicago too, hit 11f this morning ,was big surprise to me.... I hadn't seen weather working 12s. Seems like we have long Falls and late or no Spring anymore, compared to when I was a kid.

Is this new to you? If so did it happen while you were looking at it?

Are the lights headlights or parking/turn signal? If headlights do they dim from a column or floor switch?

If it's headlights have you pulled the connector off the light switch to see if the lights stay on?

Have you looked really well for a switch on or near the dash that is added on?

Headlights of that era were often dim from the voltage drop from a long run of under size wire. The solution was to add a relay near the headlights. Follow the wire from the lights back and see what you find. If someone did that mod and hooked the wire to the NC contact the lights would be always on.

Question one When I purchased the MH nthe lights stayed on so I have to go from there.
Number 2 The light dim from the turn signal lever and they don't dim and it's only the head lights.
Number 3 Yes had the switch out and disconnect and the switch has been replaced and I wondering if it is the correct switch trying to find out.
So when it warms a little I will be back out checking and if anyone knows the correct switch please let me know. Thank You all the things that every one has talked about I will go back through and do them one at a time.
