Heater core Diesel Pusher Winnebago ultimate freedom

I'm just last trip I noticed antifreeze coming around the generator on my diesel pusher. Realized it was coming from the cab heater core housing. I pinched off the two heater core hoses to continue on. Now home I want to remove the heater core and get it replaced. Opening the center access to the generator the chassis heater air conditioning assembly is right there. I noticed 16 Clips to split the housing but look like the top ones will be very difficult to get to. Does anyone have any experience in splitting this unit to remove the heater core would like to know what to watch out for and what to expect.

Welcome to iRV2

Could you add the year of your coach to the post ,
Is there any indication on the HVAC housing , to say if the unit is manufactured by Evans /Tempcon , or Denso ?

Found a leak in my dash heater core. I installed 2 ball valves as described in post #1 & 2 in this thread. Got all the parts from HD. Did the repair at our campground and continued on our trip.

Since we don't travel in the winter, don't know if I'll ever invest the time & $ to repair. If I do, it will be easy to just open the valves.

We had a 2000 Itasca Horizon and needed to replace the heater core. Taking the spring clips off wasn't a problem, just keep track of them because they like to fly. I used a flat screwdriver to pry them off.

Once the case is split, the rest is relatively easy.

It also helps if you have 3 arms, each being 6 long. It's doable and you'll learn some new words.

By the way, somewhere in the world there is a 2000 Itasca Horizon with 2 of those little clips missing and it still worked fine.
