Heating system in Class A DP ?

We have been parked on the drivers side of a Tiffin Allegro for a few days. Their heating system sounds different. Since diesel fuel and #2 home heating oil are the same except for EPA additives and highway dye, it would seem reasonable for them to have a "gun burner" home heating type system that uses diesel fuel instead of propane.

I would think this would be the way to go since there is already this type fuel on board.

Is this what they use for heating fuel? Our 5th wheel uses propane. Travel Trailers use propane.

Yes. They likely have a Aqua Hot system, which burns diesel fuel.

I have 2 propane furnaces, the rear one heats the bedroom area and the wet bay while the other heats the front.

Heating system Class A

Several diesel powered motor homes use a diesel fuel fired hot water system. The hot water is pumped thru heat exchangers similar to baseboard heating in a home. The heaters can be spread around the coach for even heating. Our system has three zones with separate temperature controls and a basement thermostat as well. They do require a tune-up every year or so depending on use.

We have a Tiffin Phaeton that uses an Aquahot system. It will heat the coach including basement, heat the hot water (10 minutes; fast), or pre-heat the engine. Runs on diesel from the tank. Will not run if fuel is less than 1/4 tank. Requires maintenance annually (Iím a year behind).
