HELP? Engine I.D.
Can anyone tell me what engine was offered in the 2002 - 2006 holiday rambler endeavor? Are they good and dependable? How do I know the HP?
Thank you kindly.
Mike

My chassis is a Spartan. I called them, and they decoded my VIN, and told me my engine serial #. Call Freightliner. I'm sure they can do the same thing.

Here is the HR site for brochures, it has 2003-2006 Endeavor listed. These can tell you what engine is standard and may list optional.

Monaco went to the Cummins ISL 400 in the Endeavor and Diplomat mid production year of 2005. My 2005 Diplomat had the 400 ISL, but many with a 2005 had the ISC. Anything pre 2005 will probably have an ISC.

My buddy's 2004 HR Endeavor 40 had the Cummins ISL engine. Some other Endeavors had the ISC. The horsepower can be anywhwere from 330 to 400, depending on engine model and configuration (Cummins does different hp ratings within a type). You can download sales brochures for 2003 & later Endeavors at https://www.holidayrambler.com/brochures/
This website is a Freightliner VIN decoder, but that VIN you gave should probably have a zero in place of the "O". It's an invalid Vin as it is written.

Just a reminder: HR's in the years you gave will have Roadmaster chassis, not Freightliner.

Could you not ask the owner for the VIN?

Look at the color of the engine. I may be wrong but think the red ones are ISL's, versus the black/gray ones are the isc.
You can get the engine part number if you have access to it. It is stamped on mine. Near the fan. It is a pain to get to because of the rear radiator configuration so using my camera I managed to find it.

The VIN doesn't directly tell you the engine model - it identifies the chassis. In these coaches, the chassis will be the Roadmaster RR8R, but there is no longer is a Roadmaster to call for more detail. The R8R can be configured with different engines, so just knowing the chassis doesn't give the answer.
There is a Roadmaster VIN decoder available, though. See https://www.clearvin.com/en/vin-explorer/roadmaster/

I found out it is a 2000 model. Double doors in rear for engine access. Since it burned, I've had to guess. It is a Freightliner chassis. Does this mean it has a KittyKat in the engine compartment?
