Help! Hot water heater

Hi RV Friends!
We have a 2018 Mesa Ridge Light 2804RK. Still newbies and have not done a lot of RVing YET. After winterizing our rig last fall (very confusing directions or lack of) we are unsure as to how to set our water heater bypass valve to fill up our water tank for next outing! We do not even know which one is the hot water heater bypass valve. We Certainly don’t want to burn up our system by turning the system on without it being filled! It sure would be nice to take a warm shower! Otherwise, if we don’t figure this out, we will be in a cold, cold shower! Help!

There should be a red (hot)and a blue (cold) line going into the HW heater. Between those two lines is the bypass valve. Turn that so that it is closed (blocking the flow). The other two valves should be open to allow flow.

If you open a faucet on the hot water side and get a steady stream of water (it will be cold since your hot water heater is off), then you should be able to start the hot water heater (LP or electric).

If you don't get any water out of the hot water side at a sink or shower, you will have to try opening a different valve to let water into the hot water tank - see AudiDudi's post above.

Incorrect. You will get a flow out of hot water faucets with the bypass valve turned either way.
Your owner's manual should have the information you are looking for.
