Thumbs up find the right floor plan

I was in same boat last year. 11 year TT owner. Retired Delta aircraft mechanic.
budget was 185k. Choice, Do we spend on tile floor and granite 185, or get linoleum and corian countertops, and spend more on fuel and driving. spent 120k on winnebago Forza 2016. spent 9 months looking at floor plans before finding right combo. pulled trigger. must haves. bath 1 1/2, fireplace, diesel. spent 10k on all new leather furniture after purchase. best advice, buy in the summer, in Florida, after all snow birds trade in for new coaches on way home. We got a steal from North Trail RV Fort Myers.

“ How do you know everything?”
“What is on station” ...at Quartzite.
“I thought you meant the front porch.“ ...Porche
“Don’t even know what I.P. is?” ... Intellectual Property
Plus a bunch of other negative comments to choose from.........
I’ll use one of his to answer the first one^^^
“That is about the dumbest comment I have read all day”.

Getting back on track... It’s a buyer’s market in used MHs, especially if you do not have a trade. Take your time, Make a list of likely rigs. Kick a lot of tires. After doing these, do not be afraid to fly to the one that rises to the top. My last 2 DPs were all the way across country... $1,000 to get it home.

After research, I had a few things on my checklist:

Min 400hp and/or 1,000 ft/lb torque.
Aqua-Hot
Tag axle
Min 38 ft (yes 38ft tags are out there)
Heated floor
King bed
Residential fridge
No DEF
Side radiator
Spartan chassis
Solid wood cabinetry
1-1/2 baths

We found a 2008 American Eagle 42F, with a 425hp Cummins ISL, that checked all the boxes. Prior owner added the king bed and residential fridge.

Other feature I love is both automatic pneumatic and hydraulic leveling.

I think the OP has already done a great deal of research. All the brands he lists on his first post are top notch and would not disappoint. Now that he knows the quality brands he needs to satisfy the most important point, OK the two most important points. Do you like the floor plan and what does the DW think.

Great coach...
My father's last one was an 05 Eagle with the 500 Cummins...
Sweet ride..
Didn't have the bath and half...
Don't know if those were available at that time...
Keep us posted on your progress...
The hunt is part of the fun...

We did everything wrong.

Budget and common sense went out the window. Today we bought a new Dutch Star 4369 off the dealer lot and paid way too much.

You did nothing wrong as long as you know the consequence of your action. Go out and enjoy it. You will be the envy of most of your camping neighbors.
