Help with Air Bag Replacment

I have an air leak on one of the rear air bags. All the bags show cracks and I'm guessing it's time to replace them. However I don't see any numbers or name on them.

How do I know what to put back on?

I have a 2000 Damon Ultrasport 3680

My GUESS is that if you 'google' for air bags for your specific chassis that you'll get results that will help you narrow down which is the correct bag.

Not sure, but your signature looking like you have a Freightliner chassis? If so you can call any Freightliner truck dealer with your vin# and they'll be able to look up part number and you'll be able to purchase them there as well.

I'm doubtful the bag itself is leaking, usually if air bag leaks it's a large leak....
If you can safely get under until with a spray bottle of soapy water, you may can find it.

But if those are the original air springs, they probably should be replaced if all cracked up.

There are two links in this thread http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/airb...st-381852.html
to Goodyear and Firestone Air Bag parts (how to identify and other such info).

The one has a hole in it. I got up under it and put my finger on it. I believe it may had been there since last year when I lost the drive shaft. But all 4 of them have cracks in them.

I've used these guys before, good customer service and they should be able to look yours up over the phone.

I too have a 2000 Damon UltraSport that will be needing air bags soon. Was that 200 each? I have a truck chassis shop that will install if I get him a part no. so he can order.

They are 235 each for the rear. Freightliner says they are out and don't know when they can get them. I did find Holland for 217 each Holland #90557248, Firestone #W01-358-9587. I just removed the first one in about 5 minutes. Very simple.

I left the l bracket on the frame so I just removed the top and bottom bolt and the air line. I just used a wrench and no oil, broke right loose. Lifted the RV with the stabilizer jacks. Installed the new ones and lowered the jacks. Very simple.

However the front ones are a little harder. In order to get to the bottom nut I have to unbolt the plate that hold the bag and the front axle. Used a 11/8 socket, breaker bar and a cheater pipe. but it now off.

I used Anythingtruck.com they had the best price and were very knowledgeable. The bags have changed over the years but they were able to tell me what to check for and verified that I was getting the correct ones. Fast shipping and great service. I would recommend using these guys for sure.

Thanks for the info. I'll be doing this when I get back from my next trip (Angola State Prison Rodeo).
