Help with battery crossover switch!!

I have a 2000, Damon, Intruder, F53. I had a dead battery, engine, tried to crank using coach batteries, via crossover. With no luck.
Where do I start trouble shooting the problem?
Any and all help will be a big help!

What part do you want to trouble shoot first?
If it were me, I'd make sure both sets of batteries are full and pass load tests. THEN I'd get into the emergency start solenoid.

If you have a completely dead battery on either side, the "crossover" switch ain't gonna help you at all.

Fix the dead battery first otherwise when you use the crossover it's like dumping good amps down a endless hole.

It was not totally dead. I charged it with stand alone b charger it cranked ok.
Where is the emerg. Start switch?

It's usually on the dash. Can you produce a photo of your dash. It's push-and-hold.

On my Daybreak the isolator solenoid/relay is under the hood left of center with the Battery Control Center and the coach battery locking relay. It is silver. The latching relay for the coach battery disconnect is back. I don't know if yours is the same. The BIRD at the left was added by me and not original equipment.

Very first thing to check would be the fuse.

Mine was blowing fuses occasionally with an older chassis battery. Hasn't blown since I put new battery in but then haven't used or needed it since then.

Did you add the large black box

Yes I did. The BIRD (bi-directional isolator relay delay) in my BCC (battery control center) was not working. The replacement circuit board was $120.00 and I wasn't even sure that was all. I got that newer style for $61.00 and wired it in. Works perfect now.
Locate the relay and see if it clicks when you push the emergency start switch. If not you will need a test light or volt meter to further check it out. Check for chassis voltage on one lug and coach voltage on the other. Powering one small terminal and grounding the other should close the relay and hook the two batteries together. Mine uses coach power to power the relay so if the coach battery is not charged the emergency start system will not work. The same relay works with the BIRD for charging the batteries. I am guessing your coach will be very similar to mine.
