help with broken windshield wiper arm

while driving in a rainstorm both my windshield wiper arms broke off within 30 minutes of each other. someone told me it was due to too much play in the system that drives the wiper arms. has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, how did you remedy it? any help is appreciated.

What kind of rig? On my '98 Winnebago Adventurer I replaced both arms and blade holders. As I recall I got them form this place:

Stepvan Wiper Parts

Hi. Yeah, I should've given the info on our vehicle. It's an 09 Fleetwood discovery. The wiper arms are 32", if my memory is correct. I'll check out the site you mentioned. I just hate to replace em if there really is a problem, only to lose these too.

One of our wiper arms broke when very new. Called Monaco (MCC had since gone bankrupt, so I had no warranty) and they sent me a new one--don't remember the price. No problem with the new one, but of course the other OEM arm broke, too, and was similarly replaced. Fleetwood and Monaco are now owned by the same parent company. I just wanted to let you know that in our case the new arms have been going strong for at least 5 yrs.

I replaced mine, found them in "Denso" on line catalog, then found a local dealer and gave them the part number.
Kgandag, Look at the top of this page click "user Cp" then "edit signature", List your rig once then everyone will know
