Ok guys... Give us a break. Many things in life are a crap shoot and most of the time we lose, but at least in VEGAS you have a good time losing your money
Humm.. if you have a problem with, Good Sam's Extended Service Plan, I guess you can't take it to the, Good Sam's Action Line

I have Interstate Star and am very happy with it. Four claims all paid without a problem. The repair shop handled everything and my only out of pocket was my deductible. The repairs total more than I paid for the policy so I am ahead of the game. I have stated before that I believe the shop you work with determines how well the claims process goes.

I bought a previously owned coach and opted for the Cornerstone extended warrenty. This summer we had an Air Conditioner/Heat Pump problem. The problem was with the duct (basement ac/heat pump unit) which runs up the backside of the coach between the rear wall and back fiberglass cap. I was quoted $2000 to remove the back cap and make the repairs to the duct. The Cornerstone Extended warrenty covered all but $100. That was almost the cost of the plan.

Oh Boy, were do I start. Ended up with Wholesale Warranties, and must say Jeff made the purchase experience rather painless. Although just left the repair facility and found using the extended warranty is a lot different than purchasing it. We have a 2007 HR Endeavor, and according to the reapair facility, the cooling unit on our Dometic NDA 1402 was bad. Told by the third party warranty adjuster that we had to use reconditioned parts, which they recommended Nucold out of Arkansas and the repair facility said they will buy it but won't warranty the part. Well to make a long 7 week circle jerk short got caught in a 3way were everyone says they aren't paying to replace the reconditioned cooling unit that didn't work. Ended up paying out of pocket to install a residentual unit in motorhome. READ THE FINE PRINT!! on extended warranties. Out of $5600.00 worth of repairs I was out of pocket $2900.00 of that. I personally will never purchase an extended warranty.

I basically had the same thing a few weeks ago except the service I had was Extra Ride and what they wanted to do since my frig was so old (06 old ) and not made anymore was to just replace the whole unit but all that was available was bigger than I had and would require woodworking to be done to fit it all in. I elected to have the cooling unit replaced and just take my chances, but for now they stated they would cover the warranty on the rebuilt part as well.

I too have Wholesale Warranties and had to use it about 6 mos ago...The chassis AC compressor went out, had to get a new one...Took it to my local ford dealer (F53 chassis) who works on alot of MH's.....He confirmed compressor was bad and called to get approval from Wholesale Warranties....Was told they only will pay for reconditioned units....This dealer will not install a reconditioned compressor....He spent an hour on the phone, got them to pay a certain amount and cut me some slack on the rest...Good dealer by the way.....
I re-read my policy front to back and there is nothing in there ref they only pay for reconditioned parts such as compressors.......
Botom line, it is buyer beware on these ext warranties....You only win if you lose, sort of like life insurance.....

Who would a person contact to get information the Extra Ride? I may be looking to change my current coverage (GS) in the very near future from all the negative comments I've heard about them.

I bought the Cornerstone gold which covers about anything at the time of my purchase of a new 2010 Baystar in April 2011. I've done some homework and most people I have talked with have no problem working with Cornerstone. It's peace of mind knowing you're covered - I have a $50 deductible - haven't had to use them yet - it kicks in during the month of April......still working on my one year warranty with Newmar.
