House Battery
 my house batt, keep being drained. RVrepair guy ,1st replaced batt. which ,was questable, then converter,then another converter, solenoids, & now thinks there may be a dioid in gen causeing the problem. what say you?? this is on a1994 sea breeze.

Find a new mechanic.
Your going to need the whole system looked over, now that your guy swapped out so many things.
You need troubleshooting not parts swapping.

Clamp on a meter to monitor the drain. Start disconnecting stuff until the drain goes away. And yes, you need a tech who can troubleshoot or is a much better guesser.

How long does it take to kill the battery ? Just the normal loads that can't be switched off will kill a battery in less than a week .

Best answer is to read the current (amp) usage at "rest" and start disconnecting loads until you find which one is the culprit.
basic directions:
first, if you don't already have one, put a battery disconnect switch on the battery...
then get a portable amp meter (most multimeters have this function).. I'd suggest using the 10amp mode...
with the disconnect switch turned OFF... bridge the disconnect switch with the probes of the amp meter... this should result in a number being displayed on the meter (if the number is negative, you can reverse the probes, but it really doesn't matter.. you're looking to get the number to as close to zero as possible, anything more than .1 amps will cause battery drawdown within a short period of time.).
start disconnecting loads (battery cables INTO the devices) until you find the device that's drawing the current.
you can also do this same trick at the fuse panel (remove the fuse, then use the meter as the fuse).
hunting down problems like this can take a lot pf patience.

You can buy a inexpensive meter to test the circuit. They call them Fuse Buddy. The lead of the meter has the fuse blades. You replace the fuse with the lead. Then insert the fuse from your panel into the lead. The meter should have an on off switch. This meter will show you the amp draw on each circuit you test. So in theory if you show a draw you will know there is something active in that circuit. Or a short. Snap-on and Matco have high end models but you can get them at AdvancedAuto or even Harbor Freight.
