How bad is fuel economy at higher speeds

Yep. My 22.5” Michelin’s are M speed rated. Several have argued with me online about this, but can’t argue with what is molded into the sidewall.

My sweet spot is between 63 and 65. I have mixed feeling about traveling below 60 mph. On flats I don't get into my top gear (6th) until about 53 mph. Below 60 any slight grade has me dropping a gear.

Going over 65 mph up to 70 mph I take a hit of about 1.2% per mph over 65. Over 70 I don't have enough experience except on down hills building up speed. But if I stay in my sweet spot I get 10 to 10.2 mpg

Interesting discussion about fuel economy, but I see no wisdom expressed here about the speed ratings on the DP tires as a consideration------ typically 75mph, but even that is variable under the amount of loading....thoughts

If you have ever seen in person, a big class "A" that has been rolled, that will slow you down!
I have, and it did.
62 is plenty fast. in the best of conditions.
In my case, gas milage is the least of my concerns.

in the southwest, interstate speeds are 75 MPH or more (Texas). I used to drive my Challenger at highway speeds all the time. I now drive 65 and don't feel like I'm blocking traffic. I guess with age comes wisdom. And better fuel economy.
