I certainly have no data but why are they tripping the GFCI, what is your thought on that one?

More than one person on this forum has been lightly shocked by touching the skin of a camper or coach if they have been around much

Simply that I prefer to have the batteries disconnected while it's sitting, for all the reasons Mudfrog stated, and I think the converter uses quite a bit more power than the little trickle chargers do.
Plus, I already had them laying around.

FWIW, my 50 amp RV hookup at home has a GFCI on it. Works fine, except (!) when I start the generator it trips every time. It will also randomly trip about once a month, don't know the reason. Every RV I've had has just enough leakage that GFCI's would occasionally trip.
