Sometimes people need volumes of evidence to believe certain things, other times they need nothing at all.

Still a small sampling that doesn't prove a negative.

As I said, use it or not - it is your money.

Are those who suggest the product works trying to prove a negative?

It seems that it is those who don’t believe the product works are the ones that are trying to prove a negative.

In seeking proof, are we looking for proof beyond reasonable doubt or proof beyond all possible doubt?

Gasoline — Depending upon your location in the country, gasoline can start to deteriorate in as little as 30 days Treat the entire fuel tank with gasoline stabilizer (page 23)

We’re not on that topic, but if we were I’d suggest coconut or extra virgin olive oil from Spain. Alternatively, you could follow the guidance in the owners manual.

Anecdotal evidence is not proof.

In any case, no one is truly seeking proof to change their minds here.

People either like Stabil and use it or they think it is hoakum.

Use it or don't. It is your choice and your money.

We will still shake our heads at people having unnecessary carb problems.

Well, well,, If you can to that, then I can roll my eyes when I see someone paying for Stabil at the cash register.

Seriously, I wouldn't do that. My experience not using it and not having problems is not really proof of anything. It's possible I've just been lucky all these years.

Btw, and again, this is not proof,,, I pulled my boat out of the garage just yesterday to crank it up and let it run for a while. Put the earcups on it, turned on the water, cranked for maybe 2 seconds, and fired right up. Idled, revved up, ran just fine. This after sitting with a full tank since May!

You are 100% correct, that is not proof. It also is not an answer to the original question.

Now, if someone were to ask: “How long can I store gas without using a stabilizer?” then you have provided some useful information.

It is interesting to note the amazing amount of information that people have, and are willing to share, about a product which they have never used.
