That's what I was thinking. Don't know much about DPs but I did get under it and everything looked nice and dry. No oil, no diesel spray.

Or...they don't get fixed.

Sounds like it's a "Demo", used at shows. I looked at one like that once at a Fla dealership and it was NOT taken care of the way you would your own, to say the least.

I walked away from that one.

Our 2014 Bay Star had 1,700 miles on it, and 75 hours on the generator when we bought it last August. It's about 1,300 miles from the factory in Nappanee, IN to Fort Myers FL where we bought it. They did an oil change on both the V10 and the generator, before we bought it. I know it probably went to a couple shows. The way we looked at it, if there were no signs of wear and tear, then they just verified that everything is working correctly. We were the ones to take the plastic off the mattress.

Our 2014 had 2K miles, went from IN to RV One in Albany, NY then to their new dealership in Tampa, FL. Still had obvious problems we found when taking delivery.

Someone who worked with me some years ago had worked at Open Road in Florida. Their chassis were driven from Detroit down to Fla, then the house was built on. Following a short shakedown run, the RV was driven to the dealer's location.

On one Class A which he delivered to a dealer in San Diego, the odometer had nearly 5000 miles on it before the buyer ever saw it.

Imagine how many miles a MH would have on it if you purchased it in Anchorage!!
Anchorage is almost 4,000 mile from my house.

Ours sat on the lot at St Augustine for 444 days before we bought it new 12/09 with 1700 miles on it. Doesn't matter, find the build date and get a complete service if its over or approaching a year old. Look at the interior and get it detailed if its been walked through too much--or cut your offer and clean it yourself. Oil in engine and generator needs to be changed along with filters every year even if not enough mileage for change. You did not mention the type coach, so I have no idea about anything else like transmission. Find out how long its been on their lot and maybe you can use that to leverage a better deal. In many car dealerships there is a 'floorpan' in financing. Basically the longer the vehicle is on the lot the higher the interest rate the dealership must pay each month and at some point the vehicle must be paid off whether its sold or not. Same with boats. Good luck!

flynnwalter - thanks. Its an Excursion DP and was built Dec 13, so its just a tad over a year old. Gave them a punch list of 26 items to be cleaned up/fixed including a motor/gen oil change. I think this one has hit the "floor" as you say, in fact the sales manager more or less pointed out that it was becoming a financing liability for them.

In the auto dealer world we called them birthday cars. Once they hit the lot the clock started, as stated they cost the dealer very little at first but they become a financial liability at the year mark. Once they have a birthday then it's time to make them leave.

I worked at one dealer that brought me a car that had a dead battery, they were raising cain, I was supposed to test it during PDI, etc.

Then I checked it, I did the PDI on that car 480something days before. So it got an expensive battery and was sold below cost to get rid of it. No real reason it was still there, typical Cadillac Deville, nothing odd or off putting about it. It was just never touched, had 6 miles on it when they brought it to me.
