We use ours very little. We have a Girard G2000 power awning & I just don't have the confidence it won't break. If it is perfectly dead calm sure I'll roll her out.

Use ours all the time except cold weather. It cones in for winds over 15 mph. Will stay out in rain but not thunder stormes. We watch weather apt radar if possibility if bad weather.[emoji299] [emoji298] [emoji296]

Awning also gets retracted each night before lights out ----no fun running outside at 3AM to put it away in a wind storm

Agree with Ol-Biscuit...I thought that was a requirement right before cocktails......................................... .....

We use ours for shade and a dry place on wet days. It comes in at night, though most nights it would be fine anyway. It's just a precaution.

Use it a lot. Always retract before bedtime. Use tie downs as needed and winds are light.

Being a Nevada/Arizona snowbird my awning is deployed whenever the wind is calm. Keeps the coach cooler and protects the paint somewhat. I assume we are discussing the patio awning which in my case is 22' long. Makes a great sail when the wind kicks up. Wow, only 1 negative reply, I'm impressed.

Same here. My awning goes out as part of the setup process unless I'm just stopping for the night and wouldn't be sitting under it, if it's raining really hard or if it's too windy out.
If I am staying a few days I use my awning strap and tie downs to keep the awning in place in gentle winds.
My use varies with the weather but I use my awning as much as I can.
At night before I go to bed I lower one corner of the awning down so water can run off the end of the awning and not form a pool which can damage the awning from the excess weight.

We use ours a lot. I love sitting under the awning and relaxing, sometimes with an adult beverage...
Being in Western Washington, we tend to camp in the rain a lot so the awning comes in handy.

I deploy ours every trip. At least one corner gets anchored if winds are forecast to be in the double digits. It's a manual roll out awning that I feel is more heavy duty than some of the electric no bottom brace awnings I see these days. Over 16 years with it so far...

At my snowbird site , it's out for 5 1/2 months ( 21' manual, three sets of de-flappers, an anti billow strap , ratchet tie downs at each end and sunshade tied down.)
In an area of the Colorado River corridor where the prevailing winds are from the north ; it's on the south side of the coach. Eight seasons , no issues.

13 years of use, needs replacement now. We use it every trip unless it is too windy or raining too hard.
