How many people are not Full Timers?

How many IRV2 members are not FTers and enjoy their motorhomes for vacationing, weekly and monthly trips?

We really enjoy leaving the "homestead" for short and long periods of time, planning longer adventures each time out. I'm fully retire and the DW works remotely 3 days a week til March , so we're able do whatever. The wife loves getting out in the motorhome and I can see how relaxed she gets, but for as much fun and enjoyment we have on our trips, for me, there's always something comforting about rolling up the driveway arriving back home.

Anyone else feel that way?

We both work full time & plan to retire in 6 years. We strictly use the coach for our vacations, weekends, etc. After retirement our plans are to leave for longer amounts of time but keep our home.

Good question! The perfect solution for us would be a condo and store the RV. Then we could come home from our travels, yet be able to travel without worries of home security and yard care.
In Texas the summers are hot and to keep your lawn and flowers alive, trips must be kept short in the summer.
For now we have a retirement sized home and yard. Will take longer trips in the fall and winter months.

We're both retired and neither of use, GF and I, will give up our stick built homes. Our trips have varied from a few days to 4 months (AK trip). Best length for us is 6-8 weeks. We don't stay in one location for more than a few days and go different places each year. Next year will be the "middle west", AZ, NM, CO, WY, and such. This past year was upper mid west, WI, MI, IN. Past trips have been AK, Maritime of Canada, west coast of US, national parks of the west, AZ, UT, WY, MT.

After a trip we both like to return home and recharge our "batteries". We have friends who FT but that lifestyle isn't for us. Frankly I can't imagine going to the same place year after year. Too many great places to see and visit than to limit ourselves to one or two places every year.

I'd say most on this and other forums are NOT FT and don't intend to.

I would venture that the vast majority of IRV2'ers do not full-time.

We are both retired. Other half still works...a little bit. Could easily full time if we chose to. For now we still enjoy our two homes, with family and friends nearby. Have had the larger Class A too....but our small Class C is perfect for our planned or unplanned trips and adventures now. Life is good, just the way it is.

Not yet, I retired in 1998 but went back to work till the DW could retire. She put her paperwork in Aug 1, 2008, Aug 13th her daughter died and we took in her two boys and two cats. Wife died in Aug 2016 due to liver cancer. The youngest is in college and I'm organizing the stuff for an estate sale, then sell the house and I'm off at 72.

Both retired and we have a home in FL. We spend the entire winter in FL (why not, winter is great here) and use the coach to escape the heat from June until October (why not, it's great up north in the summer). Best of both worlds indeed.

My Navigator and I, both still working full time, have discussed the long term future involving a coach and both of us came to the same conclusion that we want to maintain the homestead and only part time on the road. Three-four months out and three - four months in with the idea of being able to fall back on house should the day come that we can no long can keep up with the life style.
