HR Vacationer

I have a 2002 HR Vacationer. The zone 1 a/c doesn't always work on shore power but works just fine on generator. It will eventually come on when on shore power but it will take days sometimes. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a possible failing transfer switch

Yes that could possibly be it but I was thinking a low voltage problem to the thermostat. Wondering if the converter sends voltage to the thermostat??

shore power

I have a 2004 Vacationer and just had an issue with front A/C on shore power. Lost both the refrigerator and front a/c. Refrigerator shut off three times in 2 hours - finally said Lo Power. I got out my trusty meter and started measuring. It turns out the campground (Ruby's in Bryce Canyon) had issues with a whole row of sites. 1 leg of the 50 amp was fine (117volt) but the other leg was 96 volts - not enough voltage to run the a/c or refrigerator. Tried 30 amp but that was down to 98 volts. No way was I going to try that. Lucky things shut down rather than try to keep running. So 1 leg of the 50 amp circuit runs the front a/c. the other leg runs the rear a/c. You may want to make sure there is proper voltage to each leg in the power pole. You also might want to check your power cord. I have had issues with the wires coming undone in the plug end from constant pulling it from the post. Couldn't get wires to stay connected because the holding brace would not tighten down on the cord enough to hold it in place. Tried other plugs but they wouldn't fit through the pass thru hole so I bought a completely new 30' cable (which is starting to show the same looseness). good luck finding the issue.

Now that I habe sat with this for a bit, I agree, check the shore power supply and reel. If you jave an ir gun, check temps of surfaces to see if you are getting high temps in one part or the other that could lead to a bad connection. I hope you jave an ems.
