Simply remove it, find the correct nut size and weld a new nut on. If you do all the prep work and grind off the old nut, I'm sure a muffler or hitch shop wouldn't charge more than $20 to weld a new one on.

Here are a couple...

Most places that sell metric nuts like, HD, Lowes, ACE, have a wall display with assorted nut sizes. Take your bolt in and match it to the correct size.

I also called Accuride they sais to call Freightliner . Freightliner says to call Winnebago . And the only people that call me are solicitors

I forgot that it had to be left hand thread....but it seems that some weed whips use that nut. Might check a lawnmower shop or Home Depot garden parts.

I greatly appreciate your help Don. I’ve see them also and plan to check. It’s very frustrating that certain pieces of the RV industry lead people down dark alley ways. I m sure eventually I’ll come up with something. With all the truck parts being sold on the net one would sure think the item would be available somewhere

On my 2002 XC the flat strap portion is flat where yours is edgeways.
I wonder if they are available and would interchange?

Try Visone, I've found hard to find parts from them. Be ready for hefty price!

Send them your picture, they'll get back to you in a couple days

Hey JC,
Just wondering, you've probably already thought of this but, you say the "threads are damaged". Are they damaged to the point that, maybe you could find a shop/machine/truck/etc. that might have a reverse tap of the correct size, to run through those threads and maybe restore them? I mean, while I don't encounter reverse threads all that often, (accept like you, when I'm messing with the removal of the hub cover on the drivers side, and even then, I have to slap myself 'cause, "you're tightening it dummy, go the other way to remove it!).
So, just a thought that maybe it's possible to sort of restore those threads with a reverse, correct tap.
Scott

Not a chance Scott A year ago I was hearing a rattle Finally found it .The Cap was loose . Could not tighten or loosen it . It just spun . Out came the sawsall and then a replacement freightliner Long bolt . All was well until this year and I went to remove it . Theres not a hair left to work with . All that being said . For now im putting effort into DROPPIing the gen set
Every thing is disconected and bolts are loose . Next is to raise the coach . Ill get back on that other task eventually .Thats why I would like to make life easy and purchase one !
