I'm not going to judge as I don't have any info regarding your situation. I would think that "caring for family" would mean moving them from harms way. Regarding your motorhome I would consider paying a driver/transport to also remove it from harms way.

I cannot believe after watching any news over the last 10 years that you would ask that question.....how much does a train engine weigh....I have seen a few of them on their sides from the result of a tornado....Mother Nature always wins.

If I could get down there, I would take it out of there for you. Since you have to leave anyway, load your valuable stuff in it and split! You can get another family car. What better way to leave anyway? AC and possibly satellite when none will exist after the storm.

I've heard 90 mph from the side will blow one over.

I can see it now. You were given 5 days advance notice of a CAT 5 Hurricane and you decided not to evacuate. I could see an insurance company questioning that decision when you file a claim.

Wishing the best for you and your family. I understand that you truly may not be able to leave. I suspect that your RV will sustain significant damage, sorry. Keep your family safe -that's the most important thing.

Please do check in after the storm when you get connected again.

Maybe the storm will veer away...

It depend if the wind hits the side or the front or rear.

I think think a frontal hit at 100mph is ok

Just saw on the news that hospitals are evacuating. If that doesn't tell you something, i don't know what will. I have a feeling that getting out now is going to be rough with everyone else trying to do the same. Still, i would try my best to do just that. Saw on the same news segment that the storm will probably still be a cat 3 up past central Florida. As of now, the farther north/northwest you can go, the better.

I do hope the forecast is wrong and it stays out in the Atlantic. We have y'all in our prayers...

On its own I think you are in trouble. Not sure what is at your storage facility but if it were me and I couldn't get it out of there, I would try to tuck it behind a concrete building if there is one but at a minimum face the front/back towards the predicted wind direction.

Are you an FMCA member? Wonder if they could find someone to drive it out of the area for you.

Once pointed north, start the engine and begin driving. Central GA, or anywhere 100 miles inland maybe OK.

If it were me, I would already have my family loaded in it heading North...get your treasured pictures off the walls and photo albums and go...when it comes down to it...all the other stuff we think is important-isnt.

You should have departed this am. Good luck

So...your current home could be destroyed and your motorhome could be destroyed if you stay leaving you no home-nothing....at least if you leave in your motor home you can live in your motorhome until things get straightened out after the hurricane....come on....start packing..you are in denial....look at Texas...this is real
