HWH Levelers - No Power
I recently purchased an 04' Tiffin Allegro 30D with the 8.1 Vortec engine in a Workhorse Chassis. I cannot get the HWH leveling system to work, there is no power going to the panel. I spoke with a tech from Tiffin who said that because it is tied in with the parking brake, and I get no indicator light on the dash when the parking brake is on either, then it might be the parking brake switch. I tried disconnecting the lead to the brake and grounding it (bypassing the switch) to no avail. It seems as though there is a fuse blown somewhere although they all look intact, or maybe a wire broken that I can't see. Has anyone else ever experienced this problem?
Thanks!

Besides the parking brake switch, the system is probably also tied in to the shift lever. It must be in Park or Neutral to power up the system. Check that the switch there is also closing properly. You'll need a test light or multimeter to test where the power is being stopped.
You mentioned the parking brake switch only grounds the circuit. You could test the system with a ground jumper wire to the HWH control panel if that's all it takes. You didn't mention what model of HWH lever you have, here's a link to one service manual, others are also available online.

There are 1 0r 2 small in line fuses under the pump assembly - crawl under the unit to see them.

1st thing you need to do is download the owner's manual for your model. They include a fairly extensive trouble shooting guide that may point you to the culprit.

Also check the fuse box for a fuse marked LVL or something similar. On my Bounder when this happened I had to reset the control panel on the dash by removing the fuse and then putting it back in. When I went to the cockpit and turned the key on I could see it resetting and then it started working again.

HWH Levelers, No Power
Thanks to all who responded to my post, I really appreciate the feedback. I pulled the dashboard open to check for loose or broken wires and found some conclusive evidence of a freeloading mouse. Now I'm more inclined to believe that I may be looking further for a chewed wire somewhere. As for the troubleshooting guide, there is very little I can do when virtually nothing is labeled on the terminal blocks. The Model # is AP26778 and although they indicate the blue wire coming off of the park brake switch, there are three other blue wires from other devices all tied together on the same harness and there is power to all of the other functions in and around the dashboard. So, it appears that I'll have to find someone in my area who is a whole lot more knowledgeable in troubleshooting this thing.
