HWH Leveling System Care and Maintenance

Should I clean the HWH level legs when they are down and lube them with something before raising them to travel?

I park for weeks at a time and often wonder what I should do to maintain the legs.

I have been told NOT to use WD 40 on them as it will damage the seals. Suggestions?

I wipe them down with Transmission fluid. If the jacks are going to be down for a while, I wrap a paper towel soaked in trans fluid around the shaft and leave it there until I am ready to put them up. This keeps dirt and sand off the shaft.

Actually, HWH recommends WD-40 directly in their troubleshooting guides and maintenance manuals.

I routinely wash the jack rods off with soap and water, wipe them off, and then apply WD-40 (as per HWH recommendations).
"Routinely" for me is about twice a year. However, HWH actually does not recommend regular cleaning but I do it anyway.

See the attached HWH Bulletin attached to the bottom of this post.
