if it is intermittent, i would suspect a corroded connection. most of the circuit board components are a run/fail type of part.

Ok, I will try cleaning every connection I can reach. The one on the brake is in a very difficult position. But, I will give it a try.

I did notice today, that if I press the "on" button repeatedly... Rapidly, it would come on. Thinking of retouching the solder connections. I am good with a soldering iron.

remove the plug on back of the touch panel. if its the one that is orange with a white cap. unplug it, remove that cap, and use a knife blade to press the wires down into the holder. these are known to work loose. and not make a good connection.

Glad to see that this issue is posted.
I made the mistake of removing the cowling forward of the instrument panel & seeing caked-on dust/dirt on the molex connectors, where there seemed to be no end to how many there were. In dealing with electronics for most of my life, these silver plated connectors can tarnish & 12 VDC is not much pressure to break through that tarnish if there is very little current. I had unplugged many of my connectors & cleaned as much dirt out & with a dental tool went in to tighten the female connectors, then sprayed a sealer that enhances connection & seals out moisture thus tarnish/corrosion.
Many of these connectors have NO slack & are under tension = very bad design
I must have 1 or more to my leveler that did get disturbed for the auto-leveler has quit working. An other issue with this 22 year old 77K mile RV-bus

I will try that tomorrow.

I have not found how to start a post, so please show me how to do so or at least get me to the right place for help. My HWH box on the floor has no light on it. I have tried to read my manual. I am not sure which diagram is of what box etc. Appears on surface to have no power to the box on the floor. Please forgive me for just butting in on this thread, Is there a place that says....Create a new thread or something on here I haven't found it.

Yes. At the top of the thread you should be seeing a heading such as this ---

Go Back iRV2 Forums > MOTORHOME FORUMS > Class A Motorhome Discussions
Reload this Page Hwh series 200 leveler problem

Left-click on the "Class A Motorhome Discussions" and you should get a new screen that looks like this
"Post New Thread Page 1 of 579 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Last » "

And then, of course, just click on "Post New Thread."

Charles.

Hwh series 200 leveler problem

I might have fixed it. Checked the wires in the connectors inside the box. Two of the ones in the yellow connector were loose. Seated them in the connector.
The solder on the on switch looked like a cold joint. Touched them up with my trusty soldering iron and a bit of silver bearing solder. Still didn't work.

Only thing remaining, the switch on the park brake. Only way to get to it was remove the park brake foot pedal . Not difficult, just a PITA.

When closed, the switch showed 50 ohms. Corrosion. Sandpaper and contact cleaner now shows zero ohms.

Reassembled everything. It worked. Time will tell if i actually fixed it or if it is just being intermittent.
