HWH Touch Pad Malfunction

My coach is a 1997 HR Imperial with the original HWH Leveling system. When I started the coach and pressed the HYD button on the touchpad all lights on the touchpad came on and stayed on. I called HWH and they said it would probably be 2 weeks before anyone could get back to me. Does anyone have any idea what this could be. Thanks.

You could try disconnecting the keypad from the wire harness, wait a minute, then reconnect it. Maybe it just needs resetting.

I found out working on my neighbors unit that his HWH system can be confused if too many buttons are pushed in too quick of an order.... after a call to their tech support for him... (he's mid 80's) we found that the tech asked us to let it sit for (2) hours and allow the circuit board to reset.... we came back... started the coach, left the transmission in "N" and hit the all retract (road ready) and the unit did just as we asked.. we than left the ebrake on.... again in "N" and lowered the jacks and leveled the unit.... and again retracted them..... it was all about confusion in the circuit board and the related timers in the circuit board that needed to time out..

The HWH Corporation website has a tech support, manuals, page where you may download a troubleshooting guide and service manual for your specific model system.

Fixed problem

Thanks, for all replies. We found the problem. After cleaning and checking the fuses and connections on the control box with no change, we moved on to the touchpad. We removed the cover, unplugged the unit and used compressed air to remove any dust then sprayed with electronic component cleaner. When we plugged it back in, it worked perfectly. Such a simple fix after trying unsuccessfully to find replacements for the control box and touchpad! We will be keeping the compressed air and cleaner in the coach from now on as insurance.

replacement parts are often found at stuarts rv service in elkhart indiana 1-574-262-0225. he stocks a lot of hwh parts. they can also be found on amazon, ppl rv parts in houston, or ebay.
if you are stranded, please call me a 602-549-3638. paul maddox i work for hwh, and can help arrange parts. i do not sell parts directly on this forum, or solicit service work, but i can help in an emergency.
when you have some down time, it wouldnt hurt if you sent the touch pad in to hwh and had it checked over. they only charge for parts used, and a small amount of labor.
