Hydraulic Fluid Reservoir

I'm a pretty handy guy and know my way around engines and vehicles, but I'm missing something here.

Our 2008 Gulf Stream Yellowstone 40 UL has a Mercedes MBE900 Diesel engine. We have air brakes, PowerGear electric leveling jacks, PowerGear motorized slideouts . . . and a big ol' hydraulic fluid reservoir on the back of the engine.

What does that reservoir serve? Is it for the hydraulic clutch on the fan?

If you have a side radiator , it's for the hydraulic cooling fan AND the power steering.

POWER STEERING!!!

Man, I can't believe I was missing that! Thank you.

And, no, it doesn't have a side radiator. Sure wish it did, though! :-)
