Hydraulic jacks and slide out fluid

I have Power Gear Hydraulic jacks. Ocassionally I have to add a little fluid when the light won't go out (about once every 2 years or so). I have had the same quart of Valvoline ATF Mercon III in my 2003 Ford since I bought the rv. The manufacturer specifically recommends MerconIII.
So, I ask my wife to stop in at NAPA and pick me up a new quart of specifically "Dextron III Mercon. The guy hands her a Valvoline "Max Life Dex/Merc" container and says this is it. In the small print on the back it says it is recommended for use 'in' Dextron III.
Due to my limited mechanical skills I am again asking for advice. Is this the replacement for Mercon III based on what the small print reads?

I tried to call Power Gear at the 1-800 number that I have had for years and the automated answer tells me to contact my RV Dealer with any questions. That could be scary.

Thanks in advance.

Max Life is a synthetic ATF oil that is high mileage and is ok to use. Mixing them is ok but you loose the high mileage which is of no concern for your uses.
