My hydro hot unit cycles at times and then other times the purge cycle starts but drops out before the diesel burner ignites. This occurs even when I am first starting the unit. Was wondering if anyone every had this problem and if it could be the SPHEROS SG 1553 box going out

Very good possibility that it is the control box or the coil but there are several other things to check as well

When the purge cycle initiates does the Diesel burner light go out?
This does indicate a problem with the Webasto Control side.
But could be also one of the inputs to the control.
Flame Sensor
Over temp
Control Temp Sensor
Coil
Fuel Supply
Dirty Nozzle
Air supply
etc...
