I am going nutz , please help.
I filled the fresh water. Next morning both the grey and black tanks were half full? I followed everything down and found i had let the valve on the toilet freeze , so water was running out the back and down into the tank...the black tank only , I would think. I replaced the valve and the seal below the toilet , filled the tanks back up , turned the pump on and thought all is well. This morning I went to check and the black tank was 1/2 full again , nothing in the grey.
Thanks for reading this , appreciate your time. Jeff

Welcome to iRV2 .
Sorry your first post is about problems .
Ok so after your toilet repair , you dumped the black and grey tanks and filled the fresh tank . Is this correct ?
Did you happen to check the gauges to see if they were showing empty after you dumped ?
Need to be sure the tank is actually at 1/2 full ; or if you're dealing with a stuck gauge .

Relying on tank gauges, particularly in the black tank can certainly give you false information.
Suggest you open the black tank dump valve and confirm that indeed it IS half full.

Thanks for your replies
Guys ... Yes , I dumped both tanks the first day , then this morning I dumped the 1/2 full black tank and it was indeed i/2 full. Both times the gauges went back to showing empty. Also the fresh water tank gauge reflected the loss of water both times.

I can think of only 3 sources for water to enter the black tank if everything is factory original: (Assumes you have a single bath)
1. Toilet
2. Bath sink
3. Black tank wash out
Originally your grey and black were partially filling over night. Then you worked on the toilet which solved the grey tank issue. This is confusing to me as the toilet is not connected to the grey tank.
When this is happening I assume you are not connected to city water. If so then your pump should be running intermittently to move the water from fresh to holding tanks. If you turn off the water pump does the water still move to the holding tanks? If it does then gravity or siphon is moving the water. Would be good to know what is moving the water. Siphon might explain why the water transfer stops at 1/2 a tank of fresh water.
Moving 1/2 a tank of fresh (50 gallons?) in 12 hours is more than a drip I would think. Seems like you could hear the water entering the black tank if everything was quiet.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am not hooked to city water while trying to fix this situation. I noticed the bathroom faucet was dripping , quite a bit. So I shut the pump off , removed the faucet and have one coming tomorrow to replace it. Your theory on siphoning is one I will look at

Since the toilet is the only fixture that has a supply line running to it that doesn’t haves cutoff like a faucet. I believe your problem exists with that supply line. Somehow it is allowing water to continue to run into the black tank. Plug or cut that supply to see what happens or if it’s creating a siphon.
Does it do it when you have the water pump off?

X2 what bigb56 posted.
Some bath sinks are plumbed to drain to the black tank.

Yup, and extremely easy to VERIFY.
Drain black tank. Open bathroom sink faucet. What is coming out sewer hose with black tank drain open???

I appreciate the good input from each of you. The bathroom faucet was the source of the 2nd leak and filling of the black tank. Installed new faucet , checked for leaks , filled fresh water back up and turned pump on. After 2 days nothing in black tank.
If any of you have any "pull" with Mother Nature I could use your help. We have had so much rain , plus record snowpack that all campgrounds in our area are closed ....until after Memorial Day due to crazy flooding.
Thanks again for your help , happy summer to all of you!!!
