I need a Kwikee Step Motor

I have tested my Kwikee Step motor and it tests bad. Now I have removed it and I have it here on the desk. I would like to not pay a zillion dollars for a new one. I understand an Ford window lift motor is exactly the same thing for fewer dollars . This motor (Step has 1997 stamped on it) comes off my 1998 Winnebago Chieftain. Series 32. E-Bay has some of these motors for under $50 Dollars but I am not sure they are the right ones. Has anyone purchased a new Motor for a Class a (2 Step series 32) motorhome that was the new improved version? or Purchased something new that works? . Read lots of old posts here. Looks Like A ford Taurus (Left front) will work.
Part Number ?
Thanks,
Bob

I dont know if these motors are the same or not but it is worth checking. Is there any parts numbers on the motor you have? Sometimes you can find both the orginal manufactorers part number as well as the kwikee part number. If these are there you might can google the numbers and find out. Or, if there is a auto junk yard near you, take the old part out there and look at a motor on a Ford. A NAPA auto parts store might also help if you can take the old part in. Just dont tell them its from a motorhome. Good luck.

I will get it Wednesday picture sure looks like the same thing I have. I tried to order just the plastic gear from Autozone , but it was not the same. My motor works the plastic gear is stripped. My motor does have AM on it.

I'm sorry I can't recall what the specific difference was but I spoke with someone this winter that was replacing his motor. He had been told the Ford Taurus window motor was the same however when he compared the two it would not work. He ended up returning it to the auto parts store and had to order the Kwikee motor from an rv supplier.

That's where I got mine from. Nice People to do business with. Call them and they will assist you in getting the correct one.

A lot of these motors are old style Ford power window motors.

I also recommend A&E equipment, they worked with me until I got the best motors for me, they have replacement motor for most item such as steps and wipers etc.

AutoZone Dorman 742-206

Have not personally verified the info.

The Kwikee step motors are window lift motors, with gears, for cars. You have to look at your motor assembly and compare it to the window lift assembly. Dorman makes a complete line of the assemblies. My Dorman number is 742-211. This is a lift assembly for the left front on a 87-88 Tbird, 87-88 Cougar, or 88-93 Lincon Contenintal. The Ford part number is E7SZ 6323394-A.

You Know Gary, My Motor is 180 opposite of yours and it's all metal.
I have talked to AM Equipment and they won't commit to a replacement for my coach. How did you post the picture?
