I want 50 amp, water and sewer at home. Any thoughts or pointers?

There's a fair amount of torque on the socket from the plug wanting to pull down, so yeah, I think it's bad for the combo in the long run. Certainly worth the 10 minutes it would take to fix it, IMO.

The other advantage, which may or may not apply, is that if this location is exposed to the weather, having the cord go the other way will reduce the amount of water (rain) running towards the outlet.
