Ignition alarm when batteries replaced

Ok so the batteries have been needing changed as they are old and bulging. Today was the day. I removed all 4 house 6 volt batteries and the slide tray. Cleaned the battery compartment and the tray with baking soda and water, painted the compartment and tray with rust resist paint then with undercoat type paint. I had shut off both the battery switch and the ignition shut off in the battery compartment.
Sorry for the long story. But when I turned on the ignition shut off switch an alarm sounded in the front generator compartment. I found the horn type speaker just outside the firewall in the generator area. I turned the ignition shut off back off and the alarm stopped so I put the key in the ignition switch inside the coach thinking that would help but it didn't. After switching the shut off switch a few times it seems fine now.

My question is what the heck is this alarm? Can anyone who has this alarm tell me what it is and how is it supposed to work?

Thank You for any suggestions or explanations.

Kind Regards

What brand name do you find on the alarm?
