In Canada with a cracked windshield

Wife and I are in Canada until Sunday. Somewhere in Minnesota or North Dakota we must have gotten a rock hit. With so many bugs on there I just found it during today's cleaning. The hit is below the drivers wiper blade and so far is just about as along as dollar bill. It's heading toward the bottom edge. I won't call the insurance company unless I have to once back in the US next week. Should I have a shop here in Canada try to fix the chip and crack or risk it getting worse and driving to West Yellowstone on Sunday?

Safelite isn't in Canada, there appears to be an equivalent called Speedy Glass, looks almost like the same logo as Safelite.

Thanks for the help

Fred

A crack that long all they could do is cut across the end to TRY and stop the spread , there is no fix.

I called just yesterday about a crack in my windshield and was asked if it was the size of a dollar bill or smaller. The crack on ours goes across the windshield so i had to tell her no. Sure sounded like there was a chance they could have done something with it if it had been that small.

While i'm here, has anyone used RVGlassExperts dot com for their windshield replacement? I've got a call into them right now to see about having ours replaced.

Safelite and Speedy Auto Glass are sister companies of the larger worldwide company Belron.
