Thanks for that. I've considered it, but it's just not really something that is that simple with all that would be involved all the way to trying to match up the custom paint swirls on the exterior, etc. etc...and I know of no shop locally that I would trust with such an undertaking without worry of it not coming out right.

If it were as simple as that, I wouldn't have posted this.

Thank you though!

I will continue the search and my efforts and see where it leads. Even though our coach is brand new and we really really like it, I wouldn't rule out another coach if it was an upgrade and completely solved the problem at the same time. I guess we'll see...

Thanks again!

A good carpenter could modify it.

Also known as typical Navy ship installations. If it gets stuffy a small fan at each bunk will keep them manageable.

NH Dave, please explain what there is about the windows that would prevent a third bunk.
I looked at the two bunks there now, remove the drawers under the bottom bunk, lower the bottom bunk, reconfigure the cabinet openings and doors, build one additional bunk and evenly divide the open area among the three bunks.
So the bunks go past the window, so what does that matter?

Couldn't the bunks be adjusted to make room for a third? Take out storage below, etc? Of course all three bunks wouldn't have each have a full window

What about a Thor aria or Venetian? They have front drop down bunk even with a front door

I plan on revisiting this after the new year and reaching out to different manufacturers again. Maybe I'll have some luck in the new year with that.

Thanks.
Talk to Michele Howard at Newmar - she will help you get it done. Then plan on working with one of the known-good Newmar dealers on the order process and pricing. There are many threads here on the best dealers and sales guys.

Buddy of mine just took delivery of a 2017 Newmar Dutchstar with 3 bunks. Newmar left the bunk area unfinished for the local Indiana company to add the 3 bunks. He is a member of this site and I will alert him of this thread.

All valid points and things I've thought of... However, I don't want the bunks going directly across any of the windows and the bunk cabinets (or at least probably the doors) will no longer be able to be used once that height changes. Just not an end result I'd be happy with in a brand new coach, a used one we made to fit our needs, maybe...but not brand new.

I'm just fishing for ideas, including what others have said here about what some manufacturers have done for others in the same situation etc... There's some very good info on this site and many good people willing to share ideas. Thank you for your input.
