I think that so many posters seem to condone or rationalize this behavior speaks volumes about how much of a “it’s all about me” society we are becoming.

I look at the "many posters seem to condone or rationalize this behavior" as just a bunch of smart opinioned inquisitive guys and gals expressing their ideas and looking at the original posters statement from many different angles.
Ain't this a great country where we can do that?

Unless I’m missing the point, ‘lost sales’, I don’t think that’s the original point of view. The point is all the people being inconvenienced from one motorhome blocking multiple pumps AND the queued vehicles waiting in line. While a motorhome CAN fuel up by probably blocking only two sets of pumps, Costco is not actually built as a truck stop. I feel that it’s primarily for serving passenger vehicles. Not sure why we motorhome owners would want to do things so the general public dislikes us.
Driving a RV usually means we are on vacation and in no real hurry. That’s not necessarily the case with all the commuters heading to work or heading home or in the middle of their work day. Some people actually have to use their lunch time to fuel up and do in fact have places to go. After a long day at work, I wouldn’t be amused that some RV feels so self-entitled as to block in numerous vehicles that can’t fuel up, move forward, or leave. Some people believe in karma. -RT

I think until Costco bans Motorhomes from their pumps, you'll always have an RV in there trying to save some money on fuel - that is one of the reasons to become a member at Costco.

Of course we don’t know any of that to be true. We don’t know that anyone was inconvenienced, or that there was a line of cars waiting.
At one point, I asked the OP to chime in and clarify, but he never did.
Based on that, we’d have to assume no one was there, or the offending party wouldn’t have been able to get between the pumps the way he did.

That so many people don't see the problem with this says a lot about our society. It's what used to be known as "manners".

This must be a west coast thing with diesel at COSTCO. I've never seen diesel at COSTCO or Sam's, either one! Didn't even realize it was an option out west!

I disagree with that. Most people on vacation only have a few weeks off a year and want to fuel quickly so they can spend more time with their family at their destination. That's why I use truck stops. Something I have encountered are those who are afraid of fueling at truck islands. Some say that truckers get nasty, some don't like the high-flow pumps, and others complain about the diesel and other stuff they have to walk in.

I am glad I do not know the people that think blocking a couple of fuel pumps is a dick move. I sure would like to see these same dickheads fuel their rigs. Unless they are using fuel stops that only have one pump per island/lane they are probably blocking other pumps. It must be so hard for these people to be so perfect in such an imperfect world.

Ohh Lord it’s hard to be humble
when you’re perfect in every way
I can’t wait to look in the mirror
I get better lookin’ each day.
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord , it’s hard to be humble
But I’m doin the best that I can!
