Indoor Painting Question

So we have a 2006 National SeabreezeLX, and have become very tired of the OEM wallpaper. So we are seriously considering painting over the WP. Our friends did, and it looks great. Brighten up their RV a lot. Two coats for Kils#2, then two coats of color.

So the question - do you think doing this will increase or decrease the value of the RV? We are planing on staying with the original color scheme, just light greens and blues instead of the WP.

Thoughts?

Moderators - if this needs to be moved to another thread please do.

If done correctly where it looks professional, it will not have any impact on resale value, but will make the unit easier to sell.

As long as you go with neutral colors and don't make a mess of it, I doubt any future owner will even notice.

As long as the original "wallpaper" is still well-adhered.

It'll look great and a job you can be proud of!

If the current wallpaper makes the unit look dated or in poor condition, then upgrading will help the sales price and ability to sell. Just like anything else. But if you have to pay someone to do it, and choose pricey paper, then it might be a wash.

I'll be painting it myself. I've done almost all the painting in my last 3 homes over the years, so in theory I should be pretty good at it. My friend said using the Kils2 was necessary as a primer, because it helped smooth out the finish, as of course the wall paper in most RVs is not smooth. His turned out really nice.

I was thinking it would be helpful down the road, so thanks for the responses!!
